This is a 16 hectares Fire Services Training School cum Driving Training School at Pak Sing Kok Area 78, Tseung Kwan O. The site composes of man-made slopes and two formed platforms with level +80.7 and 78.5 linked by a slope road. There is an existing MTRC tunnel of TKO line and sewage tunnel below existing ground approximate 50m and 70m respectively. Approximate 30 numbers of low-rise building are proposed with three separated zones. In the non-fire zones, there are museum, teaching block, main office, residential complex, physical training centre and spectator stand. In the fire zones, fire simulators, burn house, rescue training block, drill tower, technical rescue training block and outdoor CFGT simulator are also proposed. Furthermore, there is a 3-storey driving training complex.
For the physical training centre, 2m deep post-tensioning beams are used as roof with approximate 30m clear span since the landscape roof is proposed. In the spectator stand, 50m span main truss with 9m cantilever truss is proposed to facilitate more clear view. Outdoor CFGT simulator is a building for fire training by burning woods. Over 800⁰C is found during training. The steel truss need to tackle this adverse conditions.
Furthermore, slope stabilization works by using soil nails are required to suit current standard. Retaining walls with site formation are requested to suit the MLP design and existing site conditions. Storm and sewer water design outside buildings are also part of our works.
