Meinhardt started to undertake engineering design projects in Shanghai in the Mid-80’s; including Australian Consulate office, Jin Ming Apartment Building, No.4 Hotel/Apartment etc.

In 2001, Meinhardt opened the Shanghai Office as a Representative Office and established a wholly owned foreign enterprise (WOFE) in 2002. Meinhardt Shanghai now employs over 50 permanent staff and is managed by Mr. Shaun Siow, Managing Director. They are able to undertake full consulting engineering services independently for all types of construction projects.

Some of the major projects completed by Meinhardt Shanghai include Xintiandi, Shanghai Peninsula Hotel, IFS Wuxi. Shanghai Putuo Zhenru CBD complex project (incl. hotel, office ,commercial, and service apartment), Shanghai Lujiazui Finance Center, Lot 3# Finance District Chongqing, Luwan Lot 126 Office Building Shanghai, Raffles City Ningbo, Hongqiao Hyatt Hotel Shanghai, Wenling Sheraton Hotel, Nanjing Admiral City Marriott Hotel etc.
